Twelve Town are a newly launched television production company borne out of Pinewood Television. They concentrate on long-form television drama and had chosen the highly unusual and evocative name ‘Twelve Town’ for their new venture.
Almost from the first meeting we began to wonder what this imaginary town could look, feel and sound like, and began creating a place ‘like nowhere you’ve been before’.
The client was drawn to our more mysterious and esoteric ideas, and the idea that won through leads with its own (imaginary) language:
In the heart of a different state of mind, at the end of the road less travelled, far beyond any border, in a place that could be anywhere in the world but feels like nowhere you’ve been before you come to a point where many tracks meet and somehow it feels like home. You are now entering Twelve Town.
The visual approach takes its cues from mastheads and ‘American gothic’ typography, subtly updated and Europeanised for the 21st century. So far the identity has been applied out into stationery, merchandise and event signage…
…and we’re currently working on animations, stings and their launch website. Here’s some work in progress.
